What is wiring and electrical work?

Electrical wiring is the electrical installation of cables and associated equipment such as switches, distribution boards, sockets and light fittings in a structure.

Cable safety codes vary by area, country or region. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is attempting to harmonize wiring standards among member countries, but significant variations in design and installation requirements still exist.

Subject to safety standards for cable design and installation. Allowable wire and 

cable types and sizes are specified according to circuit operating voltage and electrical current capacity, further restrictions on environmental conditions, such as ambient temperature range, humidity levels, and exposure to sunlight and chemicals.
